Boston Tea (India) Ltd., a success story is a saga
that began in the year 1987 when the Boston Trading Company was incorporated and
registered as a partnership concern in Mangalore, Karnataka State, India.
The name
Boston and the beverage tea enjoy a popular relationship that dates back to the American
war of Independence i.e. Boston Tea Party. Today the popular brand name Boston ;has become
a house hold name in
Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Maharastra and Madhya Pradesh. Also Boston products are
popular in the Middle East and other countries.
With a powerful name that dates back to centuries, Boston Trading Company was all
set to fulfill its basic objective to offer consumer the choicest blend of quality teas.
The early product line began with the launch of Boston Tea, a leaf grade, packed in an
attractive poly packs and in bulk. Since then the Company has grown into a modern,
growing, multifaceted organisation that has kept itself abreast to the needs of the
consumer.

To achieve and maintain the growth, the Boston Tea was converted into a Private Limited
Company in the year 1993. This move gave the company the added thrust and
flexibility to finance its expansion programme.
The crowning glory of the groups remarkable success is the fact that now it has become a
full fledged Limited Company i.e. Boston Tea (India) Ltd., with this the ground is now set
for further conquest.
The group has targetted a turnover of over 10,00,000 kgs of tea per annum. Not
content to rest on the past achievements the group has already staked significant mile
stone by opening a modern spices processing and packaging unit to produce high quality
spices blends as a diversification to existing line.
A new pickle manufacturing unit has also been set up to widen the groups product fortfolio
and consolidate all manufacturing capabilities under its wings.
With Globalisation settling in, the thrust is now on export. The group has
identified potential markets and product categories which have high export potential.
These include processed foods, packaged spices and
beverages like tea and coffee in various packages.
